Jo Earl – Artist – Oil Painter
Local artist Jo Earl has been coming to us for framing since she moved to the area. Her landscape and seascape oils are normally framed in a tray frame, depending on customer or gallery requirements. Here are a few words from the artist herself.
“I have been an oil painter for many years where I specialise in seascapes and landscapes on canvas or wood panel – the majority of which are based on photos taken of the beautiful local countryside in the Chiltern Hills. When I am painting, I become so enthralled in the composition that it is an excellent way to self-reflect and release stress. However, it can be stress-inducing when I’m not happy with a particular aspect of a painting!”
“After moving to Holmer Green with my husband in April 2021, I now have my own studio space in our garden which is where I spend most of my time! I took part in last years Buckinghamshire Art Weeks, the recent exhibition at Longwick school and regularly exhibit at Thame Town Hall – with the next fairs coming up in April and May. I am also taking part this early May Bank holiday in the West Wycombe Art exhibition at St Paul’s church – where I am really looking forward to meeting fellow artists and members of the public!”
“Last year I was lucky to be selected by the lovely Tracey at Hayden Art Gallery in Marlow to have some of my paintings on display in their new gallery, even selling a painting on the opening night which I couldn’t believe!”

I recently purchased two little gems of oil paintings from Jo. They’re fabulous, and neatly fit into those narrow spots where you think a picture would probably make a huge difference. Jo contacted me within hours of ordering and both works came the following morning! Jo even went to the trouble of messaging me again to check they were delivered safely and that I was happy with them. Couldn’t be happier!
