Quality Professional Picture Framing

Bespoke Picture Framing

Picture Framing workshop nr Amersham & Beaconsfield. Memorabilia, sports shirts, canvas stretching, mirrors, certificates, photographs etc

We are asked to frame this beautiful landscape oil painting by renowned artist Zoey Frank. We used a traditional shaped frame with a contemporary finish of gesso closed corner, painted in 3 neutral tones, then gilded the highlights in moongold gold leaf, rubbed back slightly.

Framing a large oil on canvas seascape
Using a wide, traditional shaped moulding painted in a mid sea blue with a hand painted slip in a light grey . The colours were chosen to enhance the piece.

We have lots of different shaped plain wood mouldings which could be painted in any colour with any finish including distressing, gilding etc.

We frame a lot of of textiles here at bespoke Framing and here are a couple of examples of cross stitches. All the needle work is laced before framing either using a conservation/museum mount or a spacer to keep the pieces away from the glazing. We always recommend AR 70 non-reflective glass to protect the work and to reduce any reflections.

One way to overcome the depth of framing some larger objects is to use a 5 sided acrylic box which will help to view more of the item.
We covered the backing in a neutral coloured felt, then the bouquets were hand sewn to the backing to keep in place. A distressed white traditional shaped moulding with a gold inner edge was used

This large Hermes silk scarf (Emile et une Nuit) was carefully hand sewn to a felt covered backboard. A matching felt covered spacer was made to create the space needed to keep the material away from the AR70 non reflective glass.
We used a deep rebate metallic pewter frame that helps to enhance the colours of the scarf.
A beautiful way to display such an intricate design
