Bucks Open Studios – Keith & Roni Wilkins
What treasures are to be found at Roni and Keith Wilkins Bucks Open Studios exhibition this year.
They have both been really busy.
The walls are packed full of Roni’s work. Paintings, card-sculpture, ceramics, found-objects and sketches developed through clay, paint and card into semi-abstract works. Music, land and seascape and human form inspired. Books and initial drawings available to browse.
Then into the garden to find some amazing sculptures by Keith. For ever recycling, this elephant is a work in progress (he was making a leg when we arrived!). This is made from dis-used satellite dishes! How did he do that? With a great deal of patience I think.
I was not allowed to go to Keith and Roni’s exhibition without our son Tom. It’s one of the highlights of his visiting. Keith and Roni are a massive inspiration to him, and he loves wondering around the garden, finding new treasures that were not here last year!
A collection of 2 and 3D work. Improvised as a reaction to the exponential growth of materialism, technology and waste. Works in progress, sketches, books to browse. Both artists are present throughout the whole of Open Studios and are always willing to chat about their work . . and many other things too.
