Angela Fielder was good at art at school, winning several children’s competitions. She studied the basics of Art & Technology at collage and after a very happy spell in dress design, started painting seriously.
Angela went on to win the Pro Art in Switzerland and the Lange Prize for Landscape. She has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition three times and at The Mall Galleries five times.
Angela loves the patterns and marks in the landscape, the influence of man, clipped hedge and ploughed fields and strange and ancient paths.
She mostly uses mixed media now as it allows imaginative scratches, blends of ink, water colour and pastels to make a painting of vibrant colour and texture. A lover of the English countryside, its patterns, seasons and waterways.
“The exciting moment of discovery in my work is achieved with brilliant colour used in bold sweeps of subtle touches.”
“I enjoy interpreting these in mixed media that allows variations in lines and textures and vibrancy of colour that is typical of my painting. I also use watercolour and oil.”
