Diversity Textile Exhibition

‘UP CLOSE’ – Textile & Mixed Media Exhibition by Diversity at the KD Fine Art Gallery (adjacent to the James Watts Gallery) The Old Pottery Building, Down Lane, Compton GU13 1DQ.

Diversity is a group of nine textile and mixed media artists with a common interest in stitched textiles. As individuals each artist has exhibited over the years at various venues and now come together to continue to develop their own individual ideas through group discussion, offering mutual support to each other and exhibiting together.

As a group and individually we aim to produce work which provides a fusion of contemporary and traditional textile art for exhibiting while continuing to develop and experiment with our own ideas and techniques.
The current members of the group all studied textiles and graduated from East Berkshire College in Windsor; although not all at the same time. Many of the members are also affiliated to other groups and societies which brings diversity into their work.
‘UP CLOSE’ is an exciting new exhibition by Diversity in textile and mixed media art. Each artist has chosen a subject and interpreted it in terms of closeness; whether this is a magnified view of the subject or an emotional one. We would like to extend this invitation to you and your friends and family and look forward to maybe meeting with you on our ‘Meet the Artists’ days.
