Art Competition

In our busy lives it’s easy to lose sight of the present moment. Noticing what’s around us, our thoughts and feelings, and what these are telling us is known as mindfullness.  Being actively mindful can help to reduce stress and anxiety levels, as well as depression. Mindfulness benefits our head, as well as our heart and body.

Can you produce a piece of art that captures ‘This Moment’?

Why an art competition?

Lots of us have been touched by mental ill-health. So, why is there still a reluctance to talk about it, or to seek help?

1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem in the course of a year.

75% of people with mental ill-health do not seek or receive treatment.

These statistics need to change – and we all have a role to play.

This art competition is about raising awareness of mental health and the value of mindfulness in promoting mental wellbeing.

Who can enter?

Any adult or young person aged 11 years of age or over (as of 10 April 2015) who has been touched by mental health issues in one way or another.

You may have personal experience of mental ill-health, or know someone/work with someone who has experienced mental ill-health.
