Saliha Elhoussaini – Artist’s Statement.
Exploring the complex relationship between order and disorder in Chaos Theory, the work reflects the precarious nature of our universe such as geological disasters, unpredictable and erratic weather patterns, whilst metaphorically referencing the instability and uncertainty of many aspects of life like: conflict, relationships, economy, and science. The regular and irregular geometric progression can result in the domino effect where the connectivity of everything results in a cause and effect matrix. Process, growth, accumulation, variation, time and space are all inextricably linked. These concepts form the basis of my visual enquiry.
